Who has some advice of what to look for (and avoid) for any sales teams looking to do some team training?

Pet peeve but I find the forced group interaction and presentation type training to not be particularly useful. Typically in a group of 4 or 5, one or two individuals will do most of the work and people will lean into their strengths anyway (e.g., the good presenter will present, the powerpoint wizard will do slides etc), so what are we actually getting from this sort of activity? I think training should be about getting better in areas in which you are weaker, so putting people in a position where they need to be challenged - and can’t lean into their strong suit - ultimately benefits them moreso than just letting others carry the bag for you. No pain, no gain, as they say.
What tends to work for me is scenario-based role-playing. Working on my handling of objections or being given a particular email and having to craft a response to keep the deal moving forward.
Feels like school (sometimes) but it helps in the long run. I learn a lot from my peers when we review the results.
You’re either growing or you’re dying.
My biggest challenge with most sales training is that ongoing support and resources are often an afterthought; eventually, people return to their habits. Has anyone seen a company make fundamental long-term changes in their outcomes, and what did they use to support the team?
