Apps

I don’t have any apps, but I do love this one YouTube channel for mediation. They make my favorite meditations. They have a wide variety.

The Honest Guys Meditation

I keep a Google Sheets doc with my weekly workouts and links to YouTube videos with examples on proper form. I find this easier than jumping from app to app trying to find the right fit. And Youtube also has my workout music playlists so that’s convenient!

For mindfulness, I love Insight Timer. It’s a free app and has over 100,000 guided meditation classes and a free meditation timer. For fitness, Peloton is my go to app. I love the extensive library of fitness classes it has with an all-access membership.

Love Classpass for trying out new fitness classes!

Looks interesting, @valeria.hesse! I just saw that they seem to use a points system for getting into classes, etc.

How does that work? Do you find it effective and motivating?

Apart from tracking my steps on my smartphone with Walkmeter and the inbuilt Health app, I really don’t use a particular app to track my workouts. I do get good ideas for workouts from Instagram and YouTube. For managing my HIIT/Tabatas/EMOMs, I use INTERVAL TIMER, which can work alongside your music playing.

I found this very INSIGHTful, Connie, going to check them out!

Hey @soren.breth, do you subscribe to any particular YouTube and/or IG workout channels that you’d recommend?

I personally prefer strength training, but also love a good blend of weightlifting and cardio for more balance.

Im super simple…

I track my steps and calorie burn on my Apple Watch.

During COVID, I was using weighted jump ropes with their app…come to think of it, I should probably break them out.

I use the SmartWod free application. You can plug in what type of equipment you have at home, what movements you can perform, and it will spit out a workout of the day. The paid version unlocks more access, filters, etc.

Meditation - Headspace
Working out - Nike Run app, Nike Training Club, Seven Minute Workout
Workout Tracking - Apple Watch

Insight Timer has been my app of choice lately for meditation. So easy to use and effective each time I do it. Fast and easy. Loving it.

Just downloaded Setgraph recently to try and find a better way to track the weights I use when I exercise, also has a function where as soon as you plug in your reps and weight for that set it automatically starts a rest timer that you can adjust based on your goals. Free version of the app seems good so far.

Nike has a free app Nike Training Club that I like because it can give me some ideas if I’d like to add something to my workouts (5 minute core circuit, 10 minute hip mobility, etc.)

Logging BMI through apple health

MyFitnessPall. Lost 30lbs by tracking what I eat and exercising. Amazing what happens when you don’t stuff your face.:full_moon_with_face:

I’ve LOVED the Ladder app for fitness the past couple months.
Tons of teams to choose from, and I’ve always favored workouts that include

  1. Warm up
  2. The work
  3. Cool down

The workouts are super effective, and I tend to shuffle from team to team based on what I want to do.
There’s something for literally everyone.

There’s a supposed 30 Day reset pass available for free if interested:

Definitely going to check this one out, @dejuan.brown! :muscle:
